It was announced this past weekend that MTV’s popular music video countdown show TRL, or Total Request Live, will be going on an indefinite hiatus in November 2008.

The show first started in 1997 with Carson Daly hosting it late at night. It fully aired as a live countdown show in 1998 however, making this year it’s 10th anniversary. As time went on, Carson Daly left the show and Damien Fahey became the main host.

While September 14th, 2008 was the actual anniversary, Mayor Bloomberg has announced that September 15th is officially Total Request Live day in NYC.

The show had it’s last airing on September 11th, 2008 and will have a huge 2 hour finale on a Saturday in November. Details have not yet been announced but I’m sure it will be entertaining.
