The Montauk Monster - Hell Visits The Hamptons?
What the…?
Okay so a MONSTER washed up on the shore in Montauk on Long Island, NY right by the Seaside Inn and the internet is buzzing about it! Here’s a picture of the little demon:
Yeah. Let in sink in for a sec. This thing washed up on the beach in Montauk on Long Island. It’s upper body looks like a dog, it’s lower body looks like poultry, it’s got a beak, and it’s got these weird as hell fingers! Also HOW WEIRD is the little tag or rope wrapped around it’s arms? WHAT THE HELLLLLL?!
Okay speculation time! There are a few possibilities of what the hell this thing could be, and some are more likely than others. I’ll start with the least likely and exciting and work my way to the most likely and boring! :D
- IT’S AN ALIEN! That’s all I have to say.
- It’s an animal testing experiment gone wrong! Okay hear me out, this one has some validity. The USDA (United States Department Of Agricultre) has an animal disease center or something right on Plum Island, which is just off the northeastern tip of Long Island. Could they have created this thing and then lost it to the sea? Or maybe it ESCAPED?! Who knows, but because it’s so close to the animal testing center, it’s still a crazy possibility.
- It’s viral marketing! Okay with all the awesome viral marketing stunts movies are pulling lately, I wouldn’t be surprised. Obviously people are jumping to Cloverfield 2 but I don’t think so. I don’t know why but I just don’t think so. The more likely thing it would be part of a viral marketing campaign for is an upcoming show called Cryptids Are Real. It’s all about monsters and stuff and they’ve already started doing some viral marketing for it. Check out the official website, CryptidsAreReal.com and see for yourself! So that’s definitely a possibility (and if it is viral marketing than that’s so awesome haha).
- It’s a…IT’S A…turtle. Unfortunately this is the most likely explanation, as well as the most boring. Cover up the rest of it’s body and just look at it’s head, it looks like a damn turtle without it’s shell. I was almost about to give into the fact that it’s probably a boring old turtle…but then I noticed it’s arms. LOOK AT IT’S ARMS. Now look at this turtle’s arms.
Those are NOT turtle arms…fins…whatever. They are FREAKY MONSTER ARMS. Or maybe I’m just really hoping that this is something more exciting than a dead turtle…hahah.
Anyway as soon as there’s more info I’ll let you guys know because this is pretty much it for now! Apparently the woman who took the picture of it is going to be getting interviewed this weekend but I doubt she knows anything about it so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! :D
