Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a one week internet miniseries event created by Joss Whedon! It’s made up of three Acts that went up over the course of 5 days; Act I was released on July 15th, Act II was released on July 17th, and Act III was released on July 19th! They were available for free vieweing on the official website, as well as for purchase on iTunes! All Acts are being kept online and viewable for free until July 20th at midnight, when they will be taken down and only available for purchase on iTunes. A DVD will soon be available, as well as the original soundtrack (which will also be available on iTunes)!
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is an original musical directed by Joss Whedon and written by Joss, Jed, and Zack Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. “It’s the story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to.” says Joss. It was conceived during the WGA strike earlier this year to show that good things could still be created. They didn’t want to sit around and wait for an agreement, they wanted to do what they love doing! And I think that’s amazing :D
So I just got around to watching Act III because I was busy and couldn’t watch it until today and I LOVED the whole thing! The story was great, the music was fun and catchy, and the actors were hilarious! I think the whole concept of why they did this and the way the released it and everything is brilliant and it’s just so awesome! x] I’ll probably look into the DVD because I’d like to see more from these guys, so we’ll see what happens. Oh and I’ll probably check out the soundtrack too, when it’s available.
